Dylan
Eczema
Dylan was born on July 1, 2001. When he was 8 months old it was springtime and he had what I thought was a cold. The cold seemed to last forever. Every spring after that he had the same problem. It was seasonal allergies. His doctor said that since he had allergies already that we should hold off giving him any peanut butter until he was 3. She never told us to wait on any other food. So we didn't. Up until he was 3 he had all foods except any food with nuts in it. I excluded all nuts just because that was what made me comfortable. We read labels to make sure he didn't get any. At this point, I didn't even think that he would have an allergy.

Jake
Eczema
At 3 months of age, Jake developed a rash on his face diagnosed as Atopic dermatitis or Eczema which quickly turned into a skin infection. He was always scratching his face until it was bleeding. I had scratch mitts on his hands night and day; he was miserable and obviously never got good rest and sleep. Unfortunately, Jake's pediatrician and dermatologist were just treating his symptoms by prescribing cortisone creams and were never able to diagnose the root cause of his Eczema.

Josette
Milk, nut, soy, egg allergy
Josette was born on January 23,2004. My husband pointed out how cool it was that her numbers were 1234(01/23/04. She was a full term baby, born by c-section since she was transverse in the womb. She was a beautiful healthy baby girl, weighing 8lbs 7oz. and 20 inches long.
I noticed that Josette was not as content as my older son Logan was when he was born 8 years earlier: she seemed to cry a lot more and she spit up after every feeding even though she was breast fed. She also had eczema on her face, arms, legs and around the creases on her neck, still I just thought that she was just a different baby than he was. We learned that josette was asthmatic as she was hospitalized at the age of 2 and 1/2 months. We did not realize she was food allergic until she was 6 months old.
